Es geht in die nächste Verlängerung - Dänemark Pfingsten 2022

Warum soll man nicht das wiederholen was gut war?  Der März war toll und hat mir gut getan. Ostern war noch besser und warum soll man das nicht zu Pfingsten wiederholen? Machen wir hat Carmen gesagt und dann kann ich ihr gleich bei dem bevorstehenden Umzug auf die Insel Rømø helfen. Sie hatte mir damals im März schließlich auch geholfen mit meiner persönlichen Situation fertig zu werden.

Why not repeat what was good?  March was great and did me good. Easter was even better and why not repeat it at Whitsun? Let's do it, Carmen said, and then I can help her with the upcoming move to the island of Rømø. She had also helped me to deal with my personal situation back in March.

Freitag Abend bin ich wieder gut angekommen und auf dem Kopfkissen meine Lieblingslakritze gefunden. Da habe ich mich so dolle gefreut, dass es sogar eine Erwähnung in meinem Reiseblog finden muss. Es sind manchmal nur die Kleinigkeiten über die man sich so sehr freut...

I arrived safely on Friday evening and found my favourite lakritze on my pillow. I was so happy that it even has to find a mention in my travel blog. Sometimes it's only the little things that make you so happy...

Das letzte Frühstück in Agerskov bevor Carmen nach Rømø umzieht. Freunde helfen ihr und sind mit Pferdeanhängern da. Alles wird eingeladen und zurück bleibt eine leere Wohnung. Carmen ist ganz Happy auf ihre Lieblingsinsel zu kommen und bei mit stellt sich ein bisschen Wehmut ein. Hatten wir doch hier schöne Stunden verbracht.

The last breakfast in Agerskov before Carmen moves to Rømø. Friends help her and are there with horse trailers. Everything is loaded and an empty flat is left behind. Carmen is very happy to come to her favourite island, and I feel a little melancholy. After all, we had spent some wonderful hours here.

In Havneby der kleinen Stadt am Südende der Insel stärken wir uns. Es ist hier alles für den Tourismus ausgelegt aber wenn man an den Strand fährt, merkt man davon nicht mehr viel. Alles ist so groß und weit, dass sich alles verläuft. Im Norden in Lakolk sieht es dagegen anders aus. Dort sind die Butiken und Läden meist mit Touristen überfüllt.

In Havneby, the small town at the southern end of the island, we fortify ourselves. Everything here is designed for tourism, but when you go to the beach, you don't notice much. Everything is so big and wide that it gets lost. In the north, in Lakolk, things are different. There, the shops and shops are usually overcrowded with tourists.

Es war windig, hat geregnet und dazu noch die Flut, die das Wasser an den Strand gedrückt hat, sorgt nur für vereinzelte Besucher. Ein PKW hat sich dann doch getraut durch das Wasser zu fahren. Stehen bleiben sollte man nicht, da das Auto dann sofort einsinkt. Für den PKW ist dass Salzwasser von unten nicht gut. Es beschleunigt die Korrosion enorm.

It was windy, raining and the high tide, which pushed the water onto the beach, meant that there were only a few visitors. One car did dare to drive through the water. You should not stand still, as your car will sink in immediately. The salt water from below is not good for the car. It accelerates corrosion enormously.

Auch das etwas schlechtere Wetter hat seinen ganz eigenen Reiz. Die Wolken hängen tief und eine Gruppe von Reitern hat sich heute hierher verirrt.

Even the slightly worse weather has its own charm. The clouds hang low and a group of riders has strayed here today.

Carmen hat hier auf der Insel noch eine zweite Koppel für Ihre Pferde dazu bekommen. Wir bringen ihre Pferde ab und zu auf die erste Koppel und dann wieder zurück, so dass sie überall schön grasen können. ...und dann gibt´s noch Streicheleinheiten...

Carmen has got a second paddock for her horses here on the island. We take the horses to the first paddock from time to time and then back again, so that they can graze everywhere.

In ihrem neuen Heim gönnen wir uns ein bisschen Zeit und trinken gemeinsam Kaffee. Es muss noch viel nach dem Umzug gemacht werden aber Pferde und Hund gehen vor. Ich habe mal gehört, die Arbeit läuft nicht weg... 

In their new home, we treat ourselves to a little time and drink coffee together. There is still a lot to be done after the move but horses and dog come first. I once heard that work doesn't run away... 

Stehe ich neben den Pferden sehen sie eher nicht so groß aus. When I stand next to the horses, they don't look that big.

Sitzt Carmen vor ihren Pferden hat man einen ganz anderen Eindruck von der Größe. When Carmen sits in front of her horses, you get a completely different impression of their size.

Abends für alle Helfer ein gemeinsames Essen als Dankeschön in der Pizzaria in Lakolk.

In the evening, all helpers had a meal together as a thank you at the Pizzaria in Lakolk.

Den Abend ausklingen lassen im neuen Zuhause. Let the evening come to an end in the new home.
